Registration is now open to enter the Annual Art Walk contest! The Art Walk is an important component to Downtown Leonardtown’s recognition by the State of Maryland as an official Arts & Entertainment District.
The registered artwork will be displayed in businesses throughout town from Sept. 4th through the 30th. Work of various media will be accepted (i.e. paintings, drawings, sculptures, framed photography, etc. – must be suitable for a family-friendly audience, see link below for details).
Voting by anyone who would like to cast a ballot will start on Wed., Sept. 4th and end on First Friday, Sept. 6th at 8 PM . The First Place winner will receive a cash prize of $100 and a write-up in the County Times, Second and Third Place winners will receive a gift certificate to a local restaurant.
Registration will close on Sunday, August 18, 2019 at 4 PM or SOONER if 35 entries are received before then. All pieces must be delivered to the St. Mary’s County Arts Council office by this time also.
How to enter: 1) Register and review guidelines online at: https://www.stmarysartscouncil.com/art-walk-artist-registration, there will be a $10 fee.
2) Deliver your artwork to St. Mary’s County Arts Council Office (22660 Washington Street, Leonardtown, MD 20650) any time between August 1 and August 18th. Open hours are Tues – Sun 11 AM – 4 PM. (If your piece is already on display at one of the galleries/ shops you must still pre-register it, however you won’t need to deliver it to the Arts Council office.) Questions?
