Join us on November 1st for a new theme and a big welcome to November! “Dia de Muertos” will kick off at 5 PM with activities in the lot across from the Courthouse in Downtown Leonardtown. There will be face painting, mask making, popcorn and snacks, and a free outdoor movie on an extra-large screen! Luminaries will light the streets around the Courthouse. Rose Heller will be a featured guest artist performing fire dancing, LED hula hoop spinning, and scarf twirling. Bring your blanket, chair, or tailgate on trucks provided by Leonardtown Chevy Buick GMC.
The SoMar Drummers will be bringing the beat for the after-party from 8-9 PM, all ages and skill levels are welcome for the audience participation Drum Circle. ( *Please note that any changes to outdoor activities due to inclement weather will be announced on Facebook. The alternate location for the Drum Circle only will be at Leonardtown Town Hall, 22670 Washington St. )
Other events for the evening include the First Friday Art Share Series event from 5:30 to 6:30 PM at St. Mary’s County Arts Council featuring harpist Marianna Nystrom. This will also be the Opening Night location for for the new art exhibit by the Color & Light Society.
The North End Gallery will be hosting a reception for their new show “Precious II”, the Port of Leonardtown Winery will host live music w/ Ross Crampton, there will be a Scavenger Hunt by Escape Rooms Southern Maryland, shops and restaurants will be open late and offering one-night only specials, and MUCH, MUCH MORE!
